French Montana Details Kanye West Collaborations

French Montana Details Kanye West Collaborations
French Montana says "Mac & Cheese 4" will include guest appearances from Miguel, Rick Ross, Puff Daddy, and more.
At the top of this year, Bronx rapper French Montana revealed that he was expecting to collaborate with fellow lyricist Kanye West in the studio on a "special project" from the Chicago wordsmith. And while speaking withComplex in a video interview published this month, French has revealed that now 'Ye is working with him on his own album, Mac & Cheese 4.
The Moroccan-born rapper revealed that he was just in the studio with Kanye and recorded four songs with the G.O.O.D. Music emcee. He says Kanye lent his assistance both production-wise and lyrically while in the studio.
Additionally, French Montana says the two artists also chopped it up about the current state of today’s Hip Hop during their time together.
“Well, I just worked with Kanye,” French said. “Me and Kanye was working yesterday. We did like four songs…He produced and rapping. So, we still going back and forth. We even considering him producing my album. Well, Kanye actually was gonna sign me before I signed with Interscope. So, he was trying to sign me. I mean, since around that time we just built a great chemistry, a great relationship. And now he’s working on his album. I’m working on my album. It’s kinda like let’s get together and make it happen…That’s Kanye, man. One of the best to do it. You know what I’m saying? We just sit there and we talk about everything that’s going on with Hip Hop. This and that. And just come up with the best songs we can come up with.”
In addition to a possible guest appearance from Kanye on Mac & Cheese 4, French says the album is also slated to include guest features from Lil Durk, Rick Ross, Puff Daddy, and a handful of other artists.
“Definitely Lil Durk. Definitely Chinx on the album. Wayne on the album. Of course Ross. You know what I’m saying? And Puff. Too $hort. That’s about it right now. And Miguel. I got Miguel on the joint,” he said.
Prior to signing with Interscope Records, French Montana revealed that he was approached by Kanye about signing to G.O.O.D. Music, but opted not to because the rapper didn’t have a phone.
"Kanye doesn’t have a phone. If you need to get in contact with Kanye, you have to email him,” French said during an interview with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez in 2012. “You can’t tell me how to do that. I don’t know how to use an email, so I guess me and you is never gonna talk. And I’ma put my career in your hands? He’s definitely talented and I felt like if I went there, we would have definitely made history."
