Rappers With Fake Watches Listed By Instagram Account

An Instagram account under the name FakeWatchBusta calls out rappers with fake watches.

With designer jewelry a staple in the lives and lyrics of many rappers, an Instagram user by the nameFakeWatchBusta has spent a little over two months profiling rappers and other celebrities with fake watches on his account. 

FakeWatchBusta, who has kept his real name anonymous throughout, recently spoke with Noisey about his account and explained his initially having fun with the idea. “I started calling out some regular accounts on Instagram for fun, you know, just a dude in his 20’s that is fronting like he bought a Rolex Submariner to his followers and tagging #Rolex #Millionaire #Money and that sort of thing,” he said. FakeWatchBusta, who also has a dedicated watch account of his own called WingedCrusader, says he’s “busted” names like Carmelo Anthony, Rick Ross, Soulja Boy, and Sean Kingston.

“I think the jewelers are taking advantage,” he said. “But if [the rappers] wanted the real deal from, say, Ben Baller it would be twice the price. I don’t think they care about the watch part – it’s the diamonds and shit that’s important to them. I think it’s more jewelry than watches for most of them."

"I mean Soulja Boy’s watch is a bad Audemars Piguet quartz fake and the battery has run out so it shows the same time in all his pictures," he also said. "It’s 10:25 all day, every day. It’s pretty funny.”
