Producers of Tupac's upcoming biopic revealed that they will begin shooting in 2014.
It appears that the long-awaited Tupac biopic will officially start filming soon. Producers/financiers Morgan Creek and Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films announced plans to begin work on the film for this Spring.
The two companies held a reception for friends and supporters of Tupac at the Zanzibar in Santa Monica last Thursday where producer Randall Emmett confirmed the 2014 shoot is a go.
The film has been on hold since 2011, when Morgan Creek and Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur, engaged in a legal battle over the biopic. The company sued Tupac’s mother, claiming she had signed over the rights to Tupac’s music and story, and then tried to continue negotiating for creative control of the project, billboard.com says. The situation was settled out of court and Shakur is now an executive producer of the forthcoming project.
No other actors or actresses have been announced for the film.
