Bitter Kola and Ebola: What Nigerians must know - Health Minister

Talking about Dr. Maurice Iwu’s thesis regarding bitter kola and Ebola (Iwu said Kolanut could cure Ebola - based on research), Nigerian Health Minister Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu said the government is considering making laws to arrest people who make bogus claims to have a cure for Ebola, and said Nigeria needs to work with Dr. Iwu. The Minister said told Vanguard;
Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu
"One of the things we decided to focus on by setting up that committee is to streamline claims of possible scientific cure, not a situation where pastors and imams claim  they can cure Ebola.   We might even go to the extent of making laws to arrest people with such bogus claims. We would take every suggestion seriously. About Professor Iwu, we know that quite a number of Nigerians accessed his article through the internet.
What Professor Iwu and his research team proved in America is that in the laboratory test-tube – not in an animal or a human being –  bitter kola extract was able to hinder the growth of Ebola virus, that it was able to slow it down or kill it. That research was not concluded according to Professor Iwu himself and he says he is disappointed that the research was not taken to its logical conclusion.

We need now to work with him and that is why we need him.   He is a distinguished world renowned professor of pharmacognosy; and he is someone we value in this country because of his professionalism and working with others; we would be able to put all ideas to the test and see how far we go. This is a serious business.

Tunde Obe's advice to Nigerian celebs who live above their means

In a recent interview with Encomium magazine, music artist Tunde Obe said any artist who owns a car that the quarter of its cost price isn't in their account, is a failure. He made the statement when he was asked what his advise is to artists who pay millions to live in rented apartments.
"When Wunmi and I started, we could have afforded to rent an apartment on the Island considering the kind of money we were making that time but we were living in Gowon Estate, Ipaja, Lagos where we paid minimal rent so we can save for our basic needs. It wasn't a day's journey. Many artiste don't get it right. You are driving a car you don't have quarter of its total cost in your account, you are a failure. My advise is that they should not live above their means or income. And those who are doing very well now should invest wisely because no condition is permanent" he said

DJ Cuppy and Ice Prince ...my eyes are watching you! (photos)

DJ Cuppy and Ice Prince hung out recently and shared photos on their respective instagram pages. I know there's nothing going on between them...for now...but my eyes are on you two...lol. The billionaire daughter is yet to date any Naija celeb but I think Ice Prince is a nice catch. You know how some of these celebs don't like each other? (fact) and don't say nice things about each other (fact), well, a lot of them have something nice to say about Ice Prince.

Recently some of them traveled to the US together and someone who was with them said he was surprised at how some of them ignored each other...but Ice Prince was the exception...he went around saying hello to every one. DJ Cuppy...he's a nice guy! *wink*

Finally we know why that elevator beat down happened...:-) (photo)
